Bolero (Ravel) has always been in my brain. First by Tomita, then a documentary I saw as a kid, then playing it in an orchestra as an adult. This project is part arrangement and part curation. I’m working with other musicians with home studios to collect unique versions of the different variations and will stitch them together into a double LP that will mimic the long crescendo of the original, but take it to places it has never been. Stay tuned, it is taking a while, but it will be worth the wait.
